Course Description: This 5 hour class will update you on dozens of major changes and other important rules in the 2020 NEC, such as: Major new GFCI requirements, Surge Protection Devices, Outdoor Emergency Disconnects, Arc Flash Reduction, Lighting Loads, Junction Box Access, Service Disconnects, Residential Kitchen Rules, Marinas, and much, much more. Don’t be left in the dark! Understanding these additional rules are crucial for safety and running a business.
After each of the five modules, a short 10 question exam requires an 70% pass rate.
Course Objectives: The student will better understand how to navigate, interpret and understand the 2020 NEC and apply it in the electrical field or place of work. The course is designed for electricians, electrical maintenance technicians, foreman, supervisors and licensed electrical contractors. Course is approved for continuing education for electrical licenses in Maryland (all counties except Wicomico), North Carolina. For PA, verify with each jurisdiction.

Some of these changes require additional GFCI requirements for 240 volt and 3 phase branch circuits, arc energy reductions for fuses & circuit breakers 1200 amps or more, new rules for floor receptacles in meeting rooms, and much, much, more. Don’t be left in the dark! Understanding these additional rules are crucial for safety and running a business.
